Welcome to the Christmas in July Blog Hop, inspiring you to get out your Christmas stash and use it before all the new collections are introduced this month. Join the fun and create something too, use the hastag #scrapbookchristmas in twitter, facebook or instagram. I am so excited to be a part of this big blog hop! I have actually finished off Christmas projects from the last few years and have had so much fun doing it! I made notes on the day – but putting it all together was awesome.
This mini book I created using cardstock and a cover. I am fairly certain the inspiration from this was from a class from Kim Archer at Home (before Etz & Jot!) and I have just not finished it at all until now! So, it is from Christmas 2009! Pre triplets!
I painted the cover with crackle paint (spruce green and love the effect. The pearls are Kaisercraft and come in the attached lines like that 🙂
Hayden is almost three here, and we were living in Broken Hill, NSW. Were literally days away from finding out that we were pregnant with triplets! This photo was one of the photos’s we used for Christmas cards that year. Our tree was fairly reasonable as Hayden was not pulling everything down!
It was the first Christmas where Hayden grasped the concept of Santa – his conversation with Santa was a riot –
Needless to say Santa had a very difficult time explaining that that was not an option for him! It was an unseasonably cool day also – 27 degrees instead of at least 37! It was a lovely day. We left fudge out for Santa, and initially Hayden was so worried there was none left for him! It is good fudge though!
One of the things we often miss about living rurally is the real sense of community and care. There is a gentleman in Broken Hill, who for more than 30 years has driven around on Christmas Eve delivering presents and knowing the kids names. Hayden was absolutely beside himself! I think the guy is a legend – doing that year in and year out, and not just for one kid, but for hundreds!
The remaining part of the minibook is journalling about the day – a monologue!
Fast forward a few years, and here is Hayden last Christmas –
I love Christmas – everything about it. I hope you have enjoyed having a look at this mini book 🙂
We basically have Christmas in July with the Triplets birthday being the 8th! But Christmas is magical – and each year there is that much more sparkle as the kids get more aware of Santa!
One of my favourite pages – yep, going back to Scrapbooking, is a page that was from a Tarisota kit, and Nic Howard was the guest designer. I still love this page – it is just so pretty! I made this page a few years ago, so technically, it is not from my stash, but really wanted to share it as I still love it! There is something amazing about the night before Christmas!
Enjoy the hop!
